The C.O.W. Bus and its facilitators were welcomed to Buffalo Lake, Kikino, and Lac La Biche this spring. We had three great days of sharing ideas about fun ways to help young children develop their language, reading, and writing skills with the families and literacy organizations of these communities.
At the Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement, the Legacy Library was presented to the parents and agencies of the community. The books will be available to families through the Buffalo Lake Family Centre.
The Legacy Library for the Kikino Métis Settlement was presented to the parents of Kikino and Pauline Thompson of Kikino Community Services, where the books will be used in their lending backpacks and other family literacy programs.
In Lac La Biche, we presented the Legacy Library to the Lac La Biche Aboriginal Head Start. The Mayor of Lac La Biche, Peter Kirylchuk, and representatives from the Parent Link and Library were also in attendance.
