The Prairie C.O.W. Bus spent three days in Lethbridge. On Monday, we were parked at the Family Centre, and families came in a steady stream all day. The local media was also out in full force to record the action. The Family Centre received the Legacy Library.
On Tuesday, we paid a visit to Parents As Teachers. We held two workshops, one for parents and one for practitioners, to talk about literacy and to share ideas. We also hosted many families on the bus. A Legacy Library was presented to the Parents As Teachers Program.
The Public Library was our stop on Wednesday. Despite the snow, dozens of excited kids and parents came to the C.O.W. Bus to explore a variety of books, toys, games, and a craft. The Legacy Library will help to expand the Library’s children’s collection.
On Thursday we drove to Fort Macleod and had a very busy morning! We had many opportunities to spread the message that parents are their children’s first and best teachers.
