The Alberta Prairie C.O.W. bus spent several days in Medicine Hat and Redcliff. The visit was very well-organized with the bus being parked at the Public Library for the general public to enjoy.
On the first day, with the local press and TV station in attendance, a Legacy Library was presented to the Medicine Hat Library and to the Redcliff Library. The bus then made a a special trip to visit a Young Mother’s group in Medicine Hat.
For the next day and a half, we parked at the Redcliff Library. Everyone enjoyed reading the many stories on the bus, engaging their children in a variety of activities, puzzles, puppets, guessing games, enhanced storytelling, etc. Several library board members visited the bus as well, and were impressed with the setup and the many ideas available for engaging children in literacy based activities.
It was a wonderful trip where our food and accommodations were generously donated by several local businesses.
