The C.O.W. bus visit to Redwater was a resounding success. The event was held at the local library with a free hot dog lunch for everyone. The local librarian spearheaded this community effort where many local organizations networked to make this a memorable event.
The library was decorated with all kinds of cow paraphernalia donated by local businesses and citizens. Even a papier-mâché cow was created and donated by the local teen group to sit as our mascot outside the bus during our visit. An unplanned but fitting finale occurred when a cowboy showed up late in the afternoon with his horse and gave rides to some of the children.
Petro-Canada sponsored the Legacy Library donated to this community. The Mayor, Library Board members and local residents attended the presentation. The Mayor congratulated the citizens on their overwhelming community participation and support for this very successful event.
Thanks to everyone in the community of Redwater for planning such a wonderful day!
