Family Literacy Outreach & Liaison

Through this project, presentations, workshops and informal trainings and programs were offered to a wide variety of Edmonton parents and other interested groups.

Family Literacy Outreach and Liaison project was funded by Wild Rose Foundation

The Project:

• Offers family literacy information and materials to all Edmonton families
• Through presentations and informal workshops, informs parents and other adults/caregivers about the importance of early language and literacy development
• Provides support to all families to engage in, and benefit from, family literacy activities

The Benefits:

• A wide variety of Edmontonians understand that literacy begins in families first
• Parents know about activities and resources that support their children’s early language and literacy development
• Parents act as their children’s first teachers
